How bout this one:
Why do atheists like making Jesus cry?
until recently, i had never encountered this word "believers" used as it is being used on this board, to describe pejoratively a group of people.
it's not clear to me whether they scorn all who have a faith of some sort.
do they include buddhists, hindus, followers of the baha'i faith, followers of the cargo cult, native americans along with christians, or is it just christians who are honoured with this epithet?.

perhaps i've just been logging on at the right time but i've seen no insane eschatology or prophecy from our resident messiah/prophets and of course, rick isn't spamming the board and everything just seems .
.
well, nice.. i like it.. .
Yeah...hmmm....responding to a PM in public isn't cool. It's kinda like getting up on the stage at the Kingdom Hall to air out what someone said to you in private.

I felt that scorn, NC. And it felt sooooo good!

Let me do a little reality check here. It's getting more obvious and someone is BOUND to bring it up.
Over the last few days there has been a lot of atheist bashing. "Why are atheists hateful?" "Why are atheists so intent on scorning believers?" and the like.
Believers, we've gotta let up. People are attacking atheists left and right. And I haven't seen many (if any) threads started by them like "Why are believers so stupid?" "Why are believers hypocrites?" and the like.
It's been a one sided fight for a while. Maybe we should stop with the believer v non believer for a while... Get on to some other subjects.

Why are atheists so intent on kicking puppies?
I'm gonna start a thread about that.
"Why are atheists so hateful to puppies?"
or
"Why do atheists think it's ok to punch babies in the throat?"

Cofty, I still like you! I don't think you're rude, insulting, angry, "hateful", etc...

Cofty, I was commenting on the comment that there are different kinds of atheists. I was stating that an atheist is an atheist. There aren't different brands. Any difference in a person's personal view that their atheism is " Rejection of or denial of the existence of God or gods" would cause them to NOT be an atheist. It's a black and white issue. There aren't different brands of atheism. If you veer from the definition given, most likely you are agnostic.

But, as someone with an enquiring mind, I am entitled to require anyone who wishes to foist their beliefs on me to justify them. That's my right, I think. AND, if their particular belief system imposes on people's lives in a way which causes damage, hurt and pain (and WTBTS surely does) and they seek to impose it on others I am even more entitled to challenge them and ask them to justify it. The more damage, the more impact, the more justification is required. Same for WTBTS as the Spanish Inquisition.
Very well said.

Do you mean "couldn't care less" Nomad? Or could you really care less than you do?
CA - most of us are sick and tired of refuting that point.
What point is that? That an atheist is simply one that denies a belief in God? What's another definition?

Unless you haven't realized it, majority of this forum is some sort of atheist.
The term "some sort of atheist" doesn't make sense. There is a single definition of atheist. One that denies the belief in God. If you are "some sort" of atheist, most likely you are an agnostic.
